Ryszard Majewski, Canary Islands

It was while working in Spain that Ryszard first heard about Ingane Yami Children’s Village. His inspiration to get involved was driven partly by his South African roots, but also in knowing that he could do something significant to give hope to children whose future seemed bleak. He knew instantly that with a bit of effort and commitment from his side he could make a lasting impact on their lives.

As a swimmer, he set a goal to do an ocean swim in Feb 2010 - the distance was 7.5km, his longest swim ever. Despite stormy seas and 4m waves her took to the water and managed to raise R3,000! Since then he has been actively promoting Ingane Yami and it’s cause at different swimming events across Europe.

His next project is to organise an Ocean Swim, where he intends to attract 400 swimmers from all over the Canary Islands in order to raise in the region of R60,000. His heart is not only to generate much needed funding for the completion and running of the Village but also to generate as much exposure as possible.

It is awesome to see the impact just one inspired individual can have across the globe!
