We are delighted to be the benificiary of the Heritage Market Cake Boss Competition. The event takes place this Saturday, 10th December from 10am to 2pm in the Heritage Market Rose Gardens.
Community members are invited to enter their cakes in an effort to be crowned the Heritage Cake Boss. There are two categories to the competition: Novice and Professional’s. All novice contestants pay R80 to enter their cake into the competition and stand the chance to win a R300 Wild Fig Tree Voucher & a R300 Heritage Voucher.
Professionals pay R250 to enter their cakes; with the benefit of advertising their own table and a chance to become the "Best Baker". They stand a chance to win a R500 Heritage Market Voucher. All cakes must be submitted the morning of the competition.
Everyone is invited to the ‘Cake-Boss’ event, to come and taste each cake, There is an entrance fee of R20 for adults, R10 for children under 12. Once people have paid they receive a stamp, and may taste as much cake as they want!
The judges will be
· Denise Dyson from the Decorators Guild
· Wynard Schoeman from the SA Chefs Assosiation
· Shirley Lake-Pieks longtime foodie
Throughout the event Café Livy will be available for families to order tea, coffee, hot chocolate and breakfast/ lunch options
An acoustic set will be playing to create atmosphere
Tables of goodies (jams, muffins, cookies) will be sold to those interested- with the option of R100/ table, or all sale proceeds going to Ingane Yami.
