Welcome Home Yamkela!

Posted in: Blog, Progress on August 18, 2018

On 17th August 2018 we had the joy of welcoming little Yamkela into our Ingane Yami family!

Yamkela is a beautiful, happy, healthy little two year old girl. Her name is a Xhosa name meaning ‘accept’; a beautiful description of how she has been welcomed in to the loving arms of her new Ingane Yami mom and wider Ingane Yami family.

Yamkela is full of joy, despite having had a very hard start to life.
She was left abandoned in the hospital after being treated for severe malnutrition and neglect. At the hospital, she won the hearts of the nurses and social workers, who contacted our social worker at Ingane Yami when it was clear she had nowhere to go. She has brought so much joy to the Village since her arrival. Her smile is contagious, her laughter endless and her potential limitless.
We cannot wait to see what God has in store for this beautiful little girl.

(Just an update, that after this post Yamkela is FULLY sponsored!)
